Dub Dumb is a song by Gorillaz featuring Sweetie Irie from Phase 1, released in 2001 as part of the soundtrack to the video game MTV Music Generator 2, exclusive to the Playstation 2.
Recording and Information[]
The song consists of 2-D humming, instruments (drums, guitar, and bass), a monkey screaming, and chopped-up vocals from Sweetie Irie. It can be found in the PlayStation 2 game MTV Music Generator 2, in which you can play the game at full CD quality,[1] and was never released outside of it.
Dub Dumb was most likely recorded during the early days of the band's existence due to its use of monkey screams at the end and other general aspects of early Gorillaz imagery. Cass Browne provides the song's main and a simple beat and Junior Dan provides the song's bassline. Damon Albarn hums over Cass' beat and provides the synthesizers, some handclaps and his piano, in the end, for the track.
