Ghost Train is the first ever song recorded by Gorillaz. It was first released as a B-side track to the single Rock the House and later as the seventh track of the band's first compilation album, G-Sides.

It is also the only track that features the bands' ex-guitarist, Paula Cracker, before Noodle joined them, back when the band was still known as "Gorilla".

Lyrics[]

Here they come to steal my soul
(Ghost train)
Living out until I'm known
(Ghost train)
Trying not to feel like you did
(Ghost train)
Moving up until I go go-o
(Ghost train)

She was not to tear about me leaving
(Ghost train)
Trying to be near my heart
(Ghost train)
Trying not to feel like leaving
(Ghost train)
Moving up until I'm taught to your side
(Ghost train)

Yeah yeah yeah
(Ghost train)
Yeah yeah yeah
(Ghost train)
Yeah yeah yeah
(Ghost train)

Yeah yeah yeah
(Ghost train)
Yeah yeah yeah
(Ghost train)
Yeah yeah yeah
(Ghost train)

Got suicide for my baby
(Ghost train)
Living up until I want it
(Ghost train)
Seeing like I'm out of bed, yeah
(Ghost train)
Moving up and taught I'm a weapon
(Ghost train)

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
(Ghost train)
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
(Ghost train)
I see myself pretend how to get there
(Ghost train)
Dripping down, I'm poisoned on the street
(Ghost train)

Come on come on come on!
(Ghost train!)
Come on come on come on!
(Ghost train!)
Come on come on come on!
(Ghost train!)
Come on come on come on!
(Ghost train!)

Come on come on come on!
(Ghost train!)
Come on come on come on!
(Ghost train!)

(Ghost train)

Trivia[]

  • The song was leaked on Geocities by Dr. Wurzel prior to its release on the G-Sides album. In 2001, the doctor stole Murdoc's Winnebago and discovered the recording while searching through Murdoc's belongings. The track was included as a B-side track to the "Rock the House" single and added to G-Sides so the recording would not go to waste.
  • The song samples "The Sound Of The Crowd" by The Human League.
  • Despite being their first ever song, this track is the only one featured on all different versions and releases of G-Sides that has also not been or to not have any alternate version featured on any release of the band's debut album, Gorillaz.
