There she went to task battling the zombie and monster-infested darkness of the building, set up the "Search For A Star" contest, and began the process of pulling the band back together to record their new album, [[Demon Days]].

During the period of time between Phase 1 and Phase 2(2002-2004), Kong Studios was abandoned during the Gorillaz' absence and was overwhelmed by zombies. By early 2004, [[Noodle]] returned to Kong Studios and cleansed the building of its unwanted infestation. She then renovated the studio prior to the band's reunion in 2005. In 2008, Kong entered a state of extensive disrepair and was then abandoned. As of 2009, Kong Studios has been left unattended and dormant on top of its Essex hill. The studio was then reclaimed by its surrounding environment before it was allegedly burned to the ground by [[Murdoc Niccals]]. Murdoc then blamed it on a group of young kids and sued them. He used the sue money for Plastic Beach related reasons.
